Documents Decoratifs plate 35 by Alphonse Mucha.
I love the way Kaneoya Sachiko draws men. She flips the gender roles: men are the “softer sex” in her work; they’re always being taken advantage of by (literally) animalistic women. They’re physically smaller than the women, less muscular, easily subdued by the women. The men in her work are simply sex objects for the women to (sometimes literally) devour. The men are the damsels in distress in her work.

I have been waiting my entire life for this
“This is a painting I did for my little cousin who will soon be going through a bone marrow transplant. I hope that every time she looks at it she will feel brave and strong.”
OH MY GOODNESS
First of all whoever this cousin is, I wish her all the luck in the world. Second of all, OH MY GOSH CAN I HAVE THIS STORY.
<3 ;_;
I’ve been wanting a sculpture from El for yearsssssCreatures from El by Ellen Jewett
Ellen’s fantastical creatures reside in the outer realms of imagination, given wings of metal, clay, and acrylic paint though their gorgeous if slightly grotesque forms look just as real as the animals they were conjured from. All her sculptures are available at her etsy, though you can commission your own mythical or real beast.
Can I just say how awesome these are? These are beautiful.
holy shit
